Indian mission
The PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, launched in February 2024, is India’s flagship initiative to install rooftop solar in 1 crore (10 million) households, offering up to 300 units of free monthly electricity. With a ₹75,021 crore outlay, it provides up to 40% subsidy for residential solar systems, targeting 22.42 GW in grid-connected capacity.
